RAMADAN

We created the Special Collection to strengthen bonds between people and their faith. The collection includes our best-selling premium traditional gift sets, hot-selling items, and thoughtful items to complement the upcoming period of fasting, prayer, and celebration.

We inspired by Islamic Art on the Quran and Mosque from Ottoman Illumination of non-figurative painted or decorative art in books or manuscript sheets. This is called “Tezhip” or “Tazhib” meaning “Ornamenting with gold”. It is art of painting arabesque and floral design with watercolor, gauche, crushed gold and natural pigments derived from lapis lazuli and turquoise.

In Ottoman empire (early as 14th century), illuminated and illustrated manuscripts were commission by Sultan or the administrators of the courts and created by artist consisted of illuminated calligraphy (Khat), renderings of Quran verses, name of God, the Hadith religious texts, poetry of sages with decorative drawings and borders. Some of these can also be found on wall of world famous Mosque and we inspired by the name of the most holy place “Medina” as our collection name.
